Isolating the healing power of the blood

I read an article the other day that spoke about a new medical practice that is gaining traction at least in the sports world. Doctors have now come up with a strategy to speed up the healing process to injuries by isolating the healing part of the blood to targeted areas in order to speed up the healing process. They are using nothing else but blood from the human body to bring healing. When we actually take a closer look at what God has set in place and is doing in our bodies through the blood that runs through our veins, we will be amazedby it. Check them out: The blood -transports oxygen and nutrients to all cells of the body-transports carbon dioxide and other waste products away from the cells-transports chemical messengers, called hormones, to the cells-maintains the pH of body fluids-Distributes heat and maintaing body temperature-maintains water content and ion concentration of the body fluidsprotects the body against disease-causing microorganisms All of these in and of themselves are incredible. God has designed things to …

Testimony from the mission field

I received this testimony today by email from one of our missionaries near Lilongwe, Malawi. I pray that it is blessings to you today. Dan and Noreen served for a long time in Angola and recently moved to Malawi to be Bible School teachers and do evangelism. The following story took place on Friday night, June 22, 2012, near Lilongwe, Malawi. I wanted to give you a report on our Friday night open-air meeting with pastor Benson in a village near Lilongwe where we live. We showed a portion of the Jesus movie then I had the opportunity to preach. I shared the text from Exodus 9:1 about God telling Pharoah to let His people go!. We made contemporary comparisons on being in bondage as the Israelites were. About 30 adults responded to the altar call and about 50 kids! A good number of these people do not attend church anywhere. We prayed for a few who had specific problems, nightmares, broken families and alcohol addiction. As we began driving out of the lot where we …

I will never leave you nor will I forsake you!

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Joshua 1:5 “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Matthew 28:20 “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” What an incredible promise! He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will always be with you. This is a truth that should inspire confidence and trust. Let me give a few examples of realize people who experienced this promise first-hand. The Apostle John Domitian had John thrown into a cauldron …

Kerfuffle among brothers

Webster-Merriam People’s Favorite Words and how the Bible might have something to say about it. Part 3 Kerfuffle – disturbance, fuss! To create a scene and attract lots of attention. A social brouhaha. alteration of carfuffle, from Scots car- (probably from Scottish Gaelic cearr wrong, awkward) + fuffleto become disheveled First Known Use: 1946 I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Philippians 4:2 Euodia and . . . Syntyche: probably deaconesses in the church here in Philippi. These two women were the source of some sort of quarrel in the church. Instead of taking sides or trying to “solve” their problem, Paul simply tells them to be of the same mind in the Lord. Whatever the dispute was about, Euodia and Syntyche had forgotten what their common ground was in Jesus Christ. They forgot that everything else was less important than that common ground. They had a falling out or disagreement over some point of doctrine or practice, and the animosity between them had become a problem in the whole church. Paul simply tells them – hey ladies, …

Smile

If you havn’t watched this video from Kirk Franklin, I encourage you to watch it here. It is going to bless your socks off. My goal today is to put a smile on somebody’s face. Even better, bring some laughter to somebody’s sadness. This one I think will do the job.

Laughter: Medicine to the Soul

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones… Proverbs 17:22 When was the last time you laughed? I mean really, really laughed? You cheeks hurt, your head hurt, your back hurt, your stomach hurt and nobody could stop you from laughing, it just kept flowing uncontrollably. I hope the guy in the picture above or something or somebody in your life today can bring you some laughter – because the bible says it is medicine for your soul. I don’t want to get too statistical here, but it is being said by doctors, that if you want to reduce the levels of chronic stress in your body, enhance your life span, boost your immune system function, protect your nervous system and sanity, and give your endocrine system much needed rest, you need to try laughter as a healing therapy. But before science came along to tell us this, the bible was already talking about it. So today, I recommend – Laughter! Laugh as much as you can and as many times …

Weeping endures for a night, but Joy comes in the Morning

Psalm 126:1-6/ Hang in there, he is about to turn your weeping into laughter, your mourning into dancing, your sorrow into joy. “When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them. The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb! Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Courage in the Valley

In his book “Stepping Up” Dennis Rainey writes, “there are moments and seasons in life that a man can’t possibly prepare for. He is dropped into combat without warning.” He than goes on to share eight lessons he learned about tragedy and loss. Lessons he learned first hand after the passing of his third grandchild Molly. I would like to highlight five of the eight today to encourage you to realize that our greatest test as men come in the valleys of life and those are the times we need to man up and step up and show up. You don’t have to understand all of God’s purpose to step up and be His man You can still have doubts and step up You are no less a courageous man if you are faced with situations that you cannot fix and about which you don’t know what to do but cry out to God in prayer You will need another good man standing alongside you when you journey through the valley You must know the truth about who God …

Father of a Great son

I have known of a number of wealthy men who were not successes as fathers. They made money rapidly; their factories were marvels of organization; their money investments were sound and made with excellent judgment, and their contributions to public service were useful and willingly made. All this took time and thought. At the finish there was a fortune on the one hand, and a worthless and dissolute son on the other. WHY? Too much time spent in making money implies too little time spent with the boy. When these children were youngsters romping on the floor, if someone had come to any one of those fathers and offered him a million dollars for his lad he would have spurned the offer and kicked him out the door. Had someone offered him ten million dollars in cash for the privilege of making a drunkard out of his son, the answer would have been the same. Had someone offered to buy from him for a fortune the privilege of playing with the boy, of going on picnics …

What if a 404 Error Page was an Opportunity to Try Again?

I watch a TED Talk last night that Reeny Gleeson gave. He tried to show the audience through a slide show of creative and funny 404 pages how every error is really a chance to build a better relationship. Even though it is not really a big deal for me, I understand it can be frustrating for others. [Watch] During the presentation, one of the slides caught my attention. It was the one from the 404 error page of Coco-cola (see picture below). On this slide it reads, “Yes, this is an error page. But what if this error page was also an opportunity?” The question is an opportunity for what? An opportunity to go back to the beginning An opportunity for a fresh start An opportunity for a new day, a new page, a clean slate Now, I want you to take that online experience and translate it into your every day life. What if every disappointment was an opportunity to believe again? What if every failure was an opportunity to try again? What if every trial was …
