First of all, lord, you are good.. You’re good, lord you are goo- you are good to the last drop, lord. Cuz I just gotta obey my thirst lord.. Choosey mom choose Jesus… As the rockets red glare, lord… That gave proof to the night. I believe I could fly

Smile

If you havn’t watched this video from Kirk Franklin, I encourage you to watch it here. It is going to bless your socks off. My goal today is to put a smile on somebody’s face. Even better, bring some laughter to somebody’s sadness. This one I think will do the job.

Laughter: Medicine to the Soul

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones… Proverbs 17:22 When was the last time you laughed? I mean really, really laughed? You cheeks hurt, your head hurt, your back hurt, your stomach hurt and nobody could stop you from laughing, it just kept flowing uncontrollably. I hope the guy in the picture above or something or somebody in your life today can bring you some laughter – because the bible says it is medicine for your soul. I don’t want to get too statistical here, but it is being said by doctors, that if you want to reduce the levels of chronic stress in your body, enhance your life span, boost your immune system function, protect your nervous system and sanity, and give your endocrine system much needed rest, you need to try laughter as a healing therapy. But before science came along to tell us this, the bible was already talking about it. So today, I recommend – Laughter! Laugh as much as you can and as many times …

Weeping endures for a night, but Joy comes in the Morning

Psalm 126:1-6/ Hang in there, he is about to turn your weeping into laughter, your mourning into dancing, your sorrow into joy. “When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them. The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb! Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Oh what a Happy Day!

Habakkuk 3:18 “yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.” There is just something about knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. He brings joy, peace, life everlasting and a certain sense of serenity. Have you experience that yet in your life. I promise you that this will be your song every day for the rest of your life.

Would you marry me?

Okay I found the video very amusing and creative. Even though there is a part in there that I didn’t expect to be in it – it is still for me a fun story about a guy doing everything he can to show his extravagant love for his fiance and finally asking her to marry him. I think it is one of the greatest marriage proposals I’ve seen to date.

A Father’s Prayer

If you have a son this a great prayer to begin praying over him. A great way to reflect on how you can impact his life. If You are a son, than this is a great way to reflect on what it means to be one. If mom and dad are still around email this to them, who knows what life lesson you can gain from not only discussing this prayer, but actually praying through it  with them. Take a step of faith even if they do not yet follow Jesus or even if there is tension in your relationship. Who knows what could happen in your relationship! Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know …

Courage in the Valley

In his book “Stepping Up” Dennis Rainey writes, “there are moments and seasons in life that a man can’t possibly prepare for. He is dropped into combat without warning.” He than goes on to share eight lessons he learned about tragedy and loss. Lessons he learned first hand after the passing of his third grandchild Molly. I would like to highlight five of the eight today to encourage you to realize that our greatest test as men come in the valleys of life and those are the times we need to man up and step up and show up. You don’t have to understand all of God’s purpose to step up and be His man You can still have doubts and step up You are no less a courageous man if you are faced with situations that you cannot fix and about which you don’t know what to do but cry out to God in prayer You will need another good man standing alongside you when you journey through the valley You must know the truth about who God …

Let the Lord be your vision

1. How you see people Mark 8:24 And he looked up and said, “I see men, but they look like trees, walking.” (ESV) To take away our deep-seated prejudices, biases, judgments and stereotypes so that we can see every man clearly. 2 Corinthians 5:16, 17 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (ESV) 2. How you see problems Zechariah 4:10  For who has desisted the days of small things? (ASV) To be able to see those blessings that usually come in disguise…either by trial or tribulation. Let God be your Avenger!

Romans 12 for people like Dr. Bruce Banner The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets!” Strong emotions such as anger, terror and grief are also triggers for forcing Banner’s transformation into the Hulk.           Romans 12:14-21 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes. If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone. Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for His wrath. For it is written: Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, says the Lord. But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with …
