Humanly Speaking

“Sometimes God will plant you in places He knows you are not going to grow Or bear fruit except by a miracle.” Walter Bright Isaiah‬ ‭41:18-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬“I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together, that they may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.” Listen to Him today – He says, “I have purposefullyplanted you in this place so that you canunderstand that humanly speaking it willbe impossible to grow and be fruitful. Butwith God nothing is impossible.” Let’s Pray:Heavenly Father, I take You at Your Word. You have my best interest at heart. Thank You for helping me see that it is not …

Living Life On Assignment

A LIFE LIVED ON ASSIGNMENT IS THE MOST DANGEROUS THREAT TO THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS Our text is found in the book of Mark chapter 4:35ff “That same day, after it grew dark, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” Leaving the crowd behind, the disciples got into the boat in which Jesus was already sitting, and they took him with them. Other boats sailed with them. Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious storm arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was nearly swamped. So they shook him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die!” Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Be still!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm.” Mark 4:35-37, 39 TPT Everything Jesus did while here on this earth He did on purpose and with intentionality. He live a life on Assignment. When Jesus said …

Day #12: I am Healed

Healing is a mystery. It is above my pay grade. I don’t know all the reasons why things happen or don’t happen. My job is to show up and pray in the name of Jesus. Randy Clark 1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self-bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” At the heart of the matter about healing is the character of God. Is He who He says He is? Would He do what He says He would do? Is His word reliable? For starters, it is safe to say that God wills for us to be healed: “Then a man with a skin disease came to Jesus. The man bowed down before him and said, “Lord, you can heal me if you will.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, “I will. Be healed!” And immediately the man was healed from his disease.” Matthew 8:2, 3. When I read this verse, …

Monday Night Meditation

This text makes reference to the house of David and when we look at this house it is lying in ruins. For 600 years we see a bare , withered tree stump, robbed of its trunk and top. It looks as if the stump will never bear any fruit any more. When it all seem bleak, dark and a lost cause , God, on Christmas night, stepped out of eternity and into time in the form of a baby. All of a sudden, from this long-dead stump springs forth new life. Let me prophesy over you this day after Christmas: Things that you thought were once dead are breathing in life again Years the cankerworm has eaten are being restored in your life Valley places are being raised up Crooked places are being made smooth Dead seeds are invigorated Dead dreams rejuvenated Dead ends obliterated I see light at the end of your tunnel Something good is already happening to you. Your possibilities are endless Your resurgence is inevitable Your prospects are bright So step …

I know who you are: 10 Days of Holy Confidence

Day #1 Lord, Maker, Savior I know that through it all You are greater Your love for me Will never fade away Those who hope in you Will never be ashamed ‘Cause I know who You are…’ “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” According to the Old Testament, your name is your identity. There is usually a meaning and purpose behind every name. This idea applies to God as well. He reveals Himself to us through His names. This Thanksgiving season, let’s do ourselves a favor and ask ourselves this fundamental question: How well do we know God? Many bible characters asked and answered that very same question. For example: Paul said, “I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.” David said, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Job said, “I know my redeemer lives, and in the end, He …

Micah’s Declarations

Don’t spend your day singing the blues? My oldest daughter stepped into the car on her way to school the other day, singing her blues: “I am having a bad day.” I had to tell her that sometimes we have to remind ourselves; speak to those negative FEELINGS that are shouting at us in ALL CAPS the things God says about us. I promise, it won’t be long until things come into alignment with the Word of God. Let Micah’s declarations become your confession: I’m filled with power, I’m filled with the Spirit of the Lord, I’m filled with justice I’m filled with might I’m filled with boldness Micah 3:8

The Day God listened to a man

Joshua 10:12-14 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.  There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! I believe in a God of Miracles. There is nothing He can’t do. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you don’t believe that, the only thing I can tell you is that I have experienced His wonder working power in my Life. I understand it is hard to wrap one’s brain around things of the supernatural or the miraculous. We were never meant to understand everything just by way of reasoning. …

What does it mean to Gain Christ?

“I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.” Philippians 3:8 When my oldest daughter was about three years old, I would pick her up from preschool and bring her back to the office every week day. We had a little play area at work for kids to hang out until parents were done working. So she would just play in that space until it was time to go home. One day, as she played and I sat in my office putting finishing touches on my weekend message, I kept hearing this noise coming from the play area. It sounded like someone was tapping on a table with a hard object. So took a little peek to see what she was doing. Well, she was playing with one of those educational toys that help children learn different shapes. I noticed that she was forcefully trying to …

Closed Doors… Part 3

What do you do when the doors slam shut before you? When we think about Jesus, we rightly think of him as a trailblazer; a way maker; a miracle worker. But at least on one occasion, this door opener, who is in fact “The Door,” had a door shut closed before him. It’s also amazing to discover that that closed door, (especially when He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, “take this cup away from me”) led to greater and wider opened doors – even doors that would lead many into the Kingdom of God. Matthew 26:36-46 The Prayer in the Garden Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O …

WAR

He can’t have your Family He can’t have your Increase He can’t have your Breakthrough No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
