Guyland


The world in which young men live. It is both a stage of life, a liminal undefined time span between adolescence and adulthood that canoften stretch for a decade or more. It’s a bunch of places where guys gather to be guys with each other, unhassled by the demands of parents, girlfriends, jobs, kids, and the other nuisances of adult life. A Father’s Prayer


If you have a son this a great prayer to begin praying over him. A great way to reflect on how you can impact his life. If You are a son, than this is a great way to reflect on what it means to be one. If mom and dad are still around email this to them, who knows what life lesson you can gain from not only discussing this prayer, but actually praying through it  with them. Take a step of faith even if they do not yet follow Jesus or even if there is tension in your relationship. Who knows what could happen in your relationship! Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. Wear the Pants – Men


Once upon a time, men wore the pants, and wore them well. Women rarely had to open doors and little old ladies never had to cross the street alone. Men took charge because that’s what they did. But somewhere along the way the world decided it no longer needed men. Disco by disco, latte by foamy non-fat latte, men were stripped of their khakis and left stranded on the road between boyhood and androgyny. But today there are questions our genderless society has no answers for. The world sits idly by as cities crumble, children misbehave and those little old ladies remain on one side of the street. For the first time since bad guys, we need heroes. We need grown ups. We need men to put down the plastic fork, step away from the salad bar, and untie the world from the tracks of complacency.
