Day #15: I am Accepted

The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself. Mark Twain In the early nineties, I met a beautiful young woman and I fell madly in love with her. I starting pursuing a friendship with her but to no avail. When I proposed to her she said, “em thank you… em… but, let me pray about it.” After that, she disappeared for 7 or 8 weeks. We eventually got married and have been together almost 19 years now. But I will never forget a very unique experience that happened in my pursuit of her. I waited for her after church one Sunday afternoon, hoping to chat just a little bit with her. I wasn’t asking for much – just a simple – you know – ‘hey, what’s up.’ I felt like she was trying to avoid me when she took another way out of the church and left. I felt so rejected and snubbed that day. Rejection is very painful. Quite frankly, I thought I was losing my mind that day. As I walked …

Day 14: I am Fully Equipped

The world has yet to see what God will do with, and for, and through, and in, and by, the man who is fully consecrated to Him. Henry Blackaby God, in His infinite mercy, has made it possible for us to do great things, achieve big dreams, and grow to our full potential. He has already provided everything we need for life and godliness. He has even equipped us with everything necessary to fulfill our life’s mission. But whenever it’s time to step up, we allow fear and doubt to hold us down. Here’s how the conversation usually goes: I can’t resist temptation I can’t witness to others about my faith I can’t forgive I can’t make a difference I can’t deal with life issues God says: Yes you can! He says, You “can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 You are “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for every good work, which God prepared beforehand, that you should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 He has already equipped you to succeed …

Day #13: I am Worthy

It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else’s eyes. – Sally Field A few years ago, a precious woman of God in our church shared her conversion experience with us. She had been married for a 3 year and every day of those 3 years her husband told her she was nothing but damaged goods. The saddest thing about her story was, she believed every word he told her. And every day she told herself “I am worthless, useless and invaluable.” But one day she met Jesus and made Him not only Savior, but Lord and He completely changed her life. I urge you to resist the spirit of false humility and embrace this truth about who you really are today. Here’s why! Your worth is not found in anyone but Christ. Your worth is not found in any group and any thing but in Christ. Your worth is not found in the car you drive, the house you live in or the clothes you wear. The opinions of others …

Day #12: I am Healed

Healing is a mystery. It is above my pay grade. I don’t know all the reasons why things happen or don’t happen. My job is to show up and pray in the name of Jesus. Randy Clark 1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self-bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” At the heart of the matter about healing is the character of God. Is He who He says He is? Would He do what He says He would do? Is His word reliable? For starters, it is safe to say that God wills for us to be healed: “Then a man with a skin disease came to Jesus. The man bowed down before him and said, “Lord, you can heal me if you will.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, “I will. Be healed!” And immediately the man was healed from his disease.” Matthew 8:2, 3. When I read this verse, …

Day #11: I am empowered by grace

Grace isn’t a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live.” The law tells me how crooked I am. Grace comes along and straightens me out.” Dwight Lyman Moody Titus 2:11, 12, “The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age .” If there is anything in our faith life that is most abused, misused and misconstrued it is our grace life. We see and use grace sometimes only as a cover for sin. We use grace sometimes as a license to sin. We define grace sometimes only as unmerited favor to get us into heaven. But grace is so much more. Check out these scripture references: Sufficient Grace “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 Overflowing Grace “God …

Day #10: I am more than a conqueror

I’ve heard His story. I’ve tasted His glory. I’ve read the end of His Book. We win! – End of story. Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” It is best for us to outline or provide a list of things we overcome in Romans 8 to understand the fullness or depth of our victory over the enemy of our soul. Check this out: Tribulation Distress Persecution Famine Nakedness Danger Sword Death Life Angels Rulers/Demons/principalities Things present Things to come Powers Height Depth Anything else in all creation WOW! Who shall bring any charge against? No one! Who can condemn us? No one! Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? No one! Who can curse us? No one! Scripture says “no weapon forged against us will prosper. And every tongue risen against us in judgment – we will condemn.” W are Shielded We are eternally shielded and secure in the love and protection of our Savior. Scripture says, “By God’s power are protected …

Day #9: I am the righteousness of God

“God will not go forth with that man who marches in his own strength.” Charles Spurgeon 1 Corinthians 5:21, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” It is important to understand one big theological word. Justification God has made me right with Him, hence, I am accepted and righteous in His sight. All my sins are wiped away and I am now clothed with His righteousness. This word means to be made right with God. It is a gift from God. We get this by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. It is at this time we become the righteousness of God. Unfortunately, we all recognize that we are not perfect, and because of that we sometimes doubt our justification and confuse it with God’s call for us to embrace the process of sanctification. Our imperfections do not change the fact that we are the righteousness of God. When God looks at you, He looks through the eyes of …

Day #8: I am Blessed & Highly Favored

God’s unmerited favor is the only reason why all things, including the bad and the ugly, work together for good. Luke 1:28, “you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” If you believe that God has favorite sons and daughters, you’ve believed a lie. Truth is, God favors every one of us equally. It is this unmerited favor – grace, if you will, that allows Him to meet each and every one of us at the point of our need. How do I know I and blessed and highly favored? I am always on his mind “Who am I that you are mindful of me. That you have set your affection upon me, paying me regular visits every morning?” Job 7:17. The Psalmist also has a similar word in Psalm 8: Who am I that you are mindful of me. That you care for me. That you crowned me with glory and honor. That you gave me dominion over your work. The thoughts He thinks of me For I know the plans I …

Day #7: I am the temple of the Holy Spirit

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live. Jim Rohn 1 Corinthians 6:19, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,” I can’t help but notice the question in the verse above. Do you not know? Obviously, Paul’s hearers didn’t know because they were living in such a way that prove they didn’t. So he had to remind them that, indeed, their bodies were the temple of the Holy Spirit. When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, we become the place of God’s dwelling. He comes by His Holy Spirit and makes a home within us. What that means is, now that He has come to dwell inside of us, we must allow him to clean house so He can actually reside. We can no longer bring in other tenants that are incompatible with the Holy Spirit’s presence because our bodies are now temples of the Holy Spirit. Dig Deeper: …
