Day #12: I am Healed

Healing is a mystery. It is above my pay grade. I don’t know all the reasons why things happen or don’t happen. My job is to show up and pray in the name of Jesus. Randy Clark 1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self-bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” At the heart of the matter about healing is the character of God. Is He who He says He is? Would He do what He says He would do? Is His word reliable? For starters, it is safe to say that God wills for us to be healed: “Then a man with a skin disease came to Jesus. The man bowed down before him and said, “Lord, you can heal me if you will.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, “I will. Be healed!” And immediately the man was healed from his disease.” Matthew 8:2, 3. When I read this verse, …

Day #11: I am empowered by grace

Grace isn’t a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live.” The law tells me how crooked I am. Grace comes along and straightens me out.” Dwight Lyman Moody Titus 2:11, 12, “The grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age .” If there is anything in our faith life that is most abused, misused and misconstrued it is our grace life. We see and use grace sometimes only as a cover for sin. We use grace sometimes as a license to sin. We define grace sometimes only as unmerited favor to get us into heaven. But grace is so much more. Check out these scripture references: Sufficient Grace “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 Overflowing Grace “God …

Day #10: I am more than a conqueror

I’ve heard His story. I’ve tasted His glory. I’ve read the end of His Book. We win! – End of story. Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” It is best for us to outline or provide a list of things we overcome in Romans 8 to understand the fullness or depth of our victory over the enemy of our soul. Check this out: Tribulation Distress Persecution Famine Nakedness Danger Sword Death Life Angels Rulers/Demons/principalities Things present Things to come Powers Height Depth Anything else in all creation WOW! Who shall bring any charge against? No one! Who can condemn us? No one! Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? No one! Who can curse us? No one! Scripture says “no weapon forged against us will prosper. And every tongue risen against us in judgment – we will condemn.” W are Shielded We are eternally shielded and secure in the love and protection of our Savior. Scripture says, “By God’s power are protected …

Day #9: I am the righteousness of God

“God will not go forth with that man who marches in his own strength.” Charles Spurgeon 1 Corinthians 5:21, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” It is important to understand one big theological word. Justification God has made me right with Him, hence, I am accepted and righteous in His sight. All my sins are wiped away and I am now clothed with His righteousness. This word means to be made right with God. It is a gift from God. We get this by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. It is at this time we become the righteousness of God. Unfortunately, we all recognize that we are not perfect, and because of that we sometimes doubt our justification and confuse it with God’s call for us to embrace the process of sanctification. Our imperfections do not change the fact that we are the righteousness of God. When God looks at you, He looks through the eyes of …

Day #8: I am Blessed & Highly Favored

God’s unmerited favor is the only reason why all things, including the bad and the ugly, work together for good. Luke 1:28, “you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” If you believe that God has favorite sons and daughters, you’ve believed a lie. Truth is, God favors every one of us equally. It is this unmerited favor – grace, if you will, that allows Him to meet each and every one of us at the point of our need. How do I know I and blessed and highly favored? I am always on his mind “Who am I that you are mindful of me. That you have set your affection upon me, paying me regular visits every morning?” Job 7:17. The Psalmist also has a similar word in Psalm 8: Who am I that you are mindful of me. That you care for me. That you crowned me with glory and honor. That you gave me dominion over your work. The thoughts He thinks of me For I know the plans I …

Day #7: I am the temple of the Holy Spirit

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live. Jim Rohn 1 Corinthians 6:19, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,” I can’t help but notice the question in the verse above. Do you not know? Obviously, Paul’s hearers didn’t know because they were living in such a way that prove they didn’t. So he had to remind them that, indeed, their bodies were the temple of the Holy Spirit. When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, we become the place of God’s dwelling. He comes by His Holy Spirit and makes a home within us. What that means is, now that He has come to dwell inside of us, we must allow him to clean house so He can actually reside. We can no longer bring in other tenants that are incompatible with the Holy Spirit’s presence because our bodies are now temples of the Holy Spirit. Dig Deeper: …

Day #6: I am a friend of God!

A friend of Jesus, Oh what bliss! That one so weak as I should ever have a Friend like Him to lead me to the sky. Joseph C. Ludgate “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 We used to sing a song back in the day called, “As the Deer.” There is a line in it that went like this: “You’re my friend and you are my brother even though You are a King.” Can you imagine, the maker of the universe, the most-high, the author of life, the judge of the living and the dead calls us His friend? That’s exactly who we are – friends of God. We are friends not just on good days. He calls us friends even on my not so good days. The best example in the bible to validate the claim that God calls …

Day #5: I am known!

Your need for approval is easily satisfied in Christ. Don’t look for it from anywhere else. Brian Houston Don’t tell me you’re not addicted. We all are one way or another. We crave the number of likes on our Facebook and Instagram pics. We love to see the number of followers climbing to the thousands. Some people even buy their followers. And, I know you’ve unfollowed friends on many of your social media platforms simply because they don’t like or comment on your posts. We all love to be known. We work hard for the recognition, reward and sometimes the renown. Whether our search to be known comes from a healthy or unhealthy place or approach, the fact remains, we all think it is cool. Unfortunately, this longing or quest is never completely satisfied. Man’s approval and praise doesn’t satisfy like Jesus does. Known or unknown Popular or unpopular Famous or out of the limelight Successful or unsuccessful With a platform or without one Connected or isolated In the game or out of the game …

Day #4: I am forgiven!

No sin in your past, present or future should paralyze your faith – because you are covered by the precious blood of Jesus. “I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his name’s sake.” 1 John 2:12. It is so amazing to know you are forgiven. It isn’t just the feeling of feeling forgiven, it is the understanding of how much you’ve been forgiven. It is the share fact that you no longer face the penalty of death for your sins. It is the joy that comes to your life because the weight of all your guilt is lifted. All of your debt, past, present and future has been erased, wiped clean – free of charge. That is amazing grace, something that everyone should know and experience. Scriptures says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). All your transgressions All your Iniquities All your sins committed All your sins omitted All washed away with the blood of …

Day #3: I am a new creation!

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. – Ralph Waldo Emerson Do you have an improper view of yourself? Self-esteem Issues? Do you think too lowly or too highly of yourself? Do you measure your worth through the eyes of others? Are you living life based on what you did in your last? Is your life hijacked and controlled by guilt shame and condemnation? Is there any kind of stinking thinking that have you bound? If yes, You are having an identity crisis. You are failing to see yourself and live your life the way God sees you and wants you to live. The enemy longs to: distract, distort and derail us by weighing us down with lies. These lies are meant to stop us from seen who we really are in Christ – loved, forgiven, redeemed and restored. That’s why today I would like to remind us about the stuff we’re truly made of. I would like to point us to this treasure …
