Learning anew the old ways of Kingdom Life/ part 1

1 Chronicles 14:13-17 Inquire | Watch | Action Learning anew the old ways of Kingdom Life 1. Inquire How do you go about decision-making? Do you ask the Lord before making decisions, or do you just wing it. Do you rely on a hunch or a gut felling? I would assume that most of you reading this blog post take very seriously these words – “in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.” Unfortunately, many believers don’t have that much patience to acknowledge the Lord in anything. In 1 chronicles 14:14 we find this really great example of David seeking guidance from the Lord about the way he should take. What a great example: And when David again inquired of God, It is not clear how David inquired of the Lord, since Abiathar did not come until David was already in Keilah (1 Sam. 23:2, 6). Perhaps he inquired through the prophet Gad (cf. 22:5). But we can confidently say that he inquired of the Lord directly in prayer. Unfortunately, this old fashion kingdom lifestyle has been abuse so much that many …

Rivers in the desert: Feel it rushing to and through you…

Enjoy a few powerful seconds from last night’s meeting at church. His presence was truly in the house. This is what I crave every time we meet. Revelation 22:1, 2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Prophetic Prayer: May his river of life, healing, and joy flow in and through you today. May his river of gladness fill up every dry and barren place in your life. May all the fruits of the Spirit be birthed in you, and may you be productive in every good work as you yield to His ever flowing stream. May it be that through you healing and blessings might come to those all around you. That He may restore unto you the years …

Hear my cry oh Lord

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. I imagine that some reading this prayer today could be in all manner of places (the end of the earth) and in all manner of circumstances (when my heart is faint). But no matter where you are and no matter the circumstance there are three places you can always run to: His presence: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, The rock that is higher than I is an image of safety. The safest place to run is to God when you are overwhelmed and stressed – “he will hide you in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal you under the cover of his tent; he will lift you high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5 His presence: Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings The shelter of your wings is an image of protection. Deuteronomy 32:11 says, “he encircles you, he cares for you, he keeps you as …

What My Soul Needs is God

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. This is one of my most favored Psalms of all-time. It has a humble and longing posture that is most important to anyone who truly wants to know and experience God. The idea of running after or seeking after God is exciting and adventurous. To me, His ways are past finding out, and you might be surprise about what you might discover about Him as you attempt to seek more of Him. Therefore, for the soul to truly live and thrive, and experience God in meaningful ways, one must understand the things that keep the soul alive and thriving and fight the things that try to hinder it. Because the soul is easily cast down. It easily loses hope and is easily troubled. So here are a few things to consider: A sustained hunger and thirst for God through shouts of worship and praise (verse 1 and …

Midnight cry: 4 Prayers from Psalm 31

Good Morning Everyone, I’m sorry about my absence. Lately, life has been super busy, and there are some new and exciting things happening, those I will share at another time. Just after midnight last night I took some time to pray, but I couldn’t find the words. So I started reading Psalm 31, a PowerFULL Psalm, and suddenly I knew exactly what to pray for. I’m sure you have been in that place before – you just don’t know what or how to pray, but the Holy Spirit shows and helps you to pray according to the will of God. As I read the Psalm four prayers stood out to me. Let me share them, maybe you could use them too: 4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me Traps set by the enemy of my soul. Traps set before because of success. Traps set by jealous friends. Traps set before me because of Kingdom advancement. And those by my own bad choices. Lord set me free! 8 set my feet in …

Releasing a culture of Victory in the face of Opposition

One of the key truths about the kingdom of God, the church or a believer is that we always seem to triumph even in the mist of intense opposition. For example: The massive Goliath falls to a boy with five smooth stones Pharaoh’s pursuit and the parting of the Red Sea. A great multitude of Moabites and Ammonites came against Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat prayed. God spoke. The worship band sang. God moved. Israel won the battle. Jesus lived and died. His disciples begin to spread the good news. Opposition is as intense as it was with Jesus. Some get killed, yet the truth still lives, impacting countless millions. Time after time we win. No matter the opposition. No matter the issue, no matter the seeming setbacks, we win. Truth gets twisted but it never breaks. Kingdoms rise, kingdoms fall, He is immovable rock, so are we. Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it!” Here are a few things we need to do when faced with opposition 1. Remember God …

3 Signs of a Revived Christian Life

Jesus Christ came so that we can have life and have to the full. To be truly alive to Christ means, we must have his life flowing within our hearts. If you are like me, you’ll admit, that life leaks. Sometimes I am truly on fire and full of spiritual vitality, but other times I experience seasons of dryness. The question is how do I get my spiritual life revived again? An Abiding Presence The first sign of a revived christian life is a life that enjoys the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. He possesses a fullness that is ever-increasing – from glory to glory. In the words of a famous preacher, it is “something that you don’t have to stir up, crank up, work up.” Too often, revival is about how loud and emotional people can get in a meeting. Don’t get me wrong, I think, when God shows in our meetings it is going to get loud. But too often, people try to reproduce something God did before and act as if …

Prayer Knows No Bounds

Faith, and hope, and patience and all the strong, beautiful, vital forces of piety are withered and dead in a prayerless life. The life of the individual believer, his personal salvation, and personal Christian graces have their being, bloom, and fruitage in prayer. God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. They outlive the lives of those who uttered them. Prayer is of transcendent importance. Prayer is the mightiest agent to advance God’s work. Praying hearts and hands only can do God’s work. Prayer succeeds when all else fails. Prayer honors God, acknowledges His being, exalts His power, adores His providence, secures His aid. Prayer puts God’s work in His hands-and keeps it there. Prayer is our most formidable weapon, the thing which makes all else we do efficient. It is hard to wait and press and pray, and hear no voice, but stay till God answers. The possibilities of prayer are found in its allying itself with the purposes of God, for God’s purposes and man’s praying are the combination of all potent and omnipotent …

7 Habits of Highly Effective Christians

Charles Nobles once said, “first we make our habits, then our habits make us.” We are what we repeatedly do. And if we ever want excellence in our lives, we need to remember that it “is not an act, but a habit.” Some habits are good, others very bad and still some are of no value or eternal significance. However, to effectively impact the people around us and leave a lasting impression, we must develop good habits and do everything in our power to unlearn bad ones. I would like to leave you with 7 Habits of highly effective christians. By their constant practice of 7 biblical principles they do not only excel in their knowledge of God, devotion to the Lord, ministry and calling, they also effectively inspire and challenge others to personal development and growth. They give cheerfully Their primary motivation is not what they will get out of their giving. They are more interested in being a blessing than receiving a blessing. They are kingdom driven and what ever promotes the work of …
