Seven-fold Blessing of Delight

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who fears (reveres and worships) the Lord, is the man who delights greatly in His commandments. Delight Psalm 1:1, 2 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” The power of delight occurs approximately 110 times in Scripture in various forms. Less than fifteen occurrences are found in the New Testament. The word “please” which is related to delight occurs about 350 times, about seventy-five of these occurrences in the New Testament. The Old Testament however, has two of the most common Hebrew terms for delight which means “to bend towards, or to be inclined towards an object or person” and “to delight or take pleasure in.” A reverent respect mixed with love and hope and a holy bend or inclination toward God and all He is and stands for …

Don’t worry be happy!

Here’s little post I wrote You might want to read it Line  by Line Don’t worry be happy! Have you ever heard people say things like – “when I get that house up in the hills, or that car – “than” I will be happy?” I have! I have heard and seen people try to make material goods, success, social status and outside influences or events control or dictate their level of happiness. When I get that pair of legs – than I will be happy When I get that promotion or raise – than I will be happy When I meet Mr. Or Mrs. Right – than I will be happy But what people fail to realize is that riches, material blessings, the ideal life and all your hopes and dreams combined can not make you happy. Your happiness does not depend on or should not be dependent upon others, circumstances or what you have or have not. The bible says that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of what he …

Show me a Blessed man and I will show you a Godly man

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1 Things he doesn’t do: He does not follow the counsel of the wicked He deos not imulate the ways of sinners He does not follow the examples of scoffers Things he does: He delights in the word of God He meditates on the word of God What are the visible results of his choices: He is well norished spiritually He bears all the spiritual fruits He is fresh and never butned out He prospers in whatever he does He receives praise from his maker He has fellowship with the father He is guided by His maker There …

Simply Redeemed

Let me begin with the chorus of a beautiful song written by Heather Headley entitled Simply Redeemed: While I was yet in my transgressions Somebody paid the price for me I offered up my life to Him And now I say again I am not perfect Simply redeemed We are simply redeemed. Look at what Paul says to this effect… Ephesians 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Here is an outline of this truth in chapter 1 of Eph. Ephesians 1 HE BLESSED US – with every spiritual blessing. Whatsoever I need spiritually he has already provided. HE CHOSE US – we were worthless when he chose us… if he loved you while you were playing in your dirt, how much more does he love you now that you belong to him? But, you must understand that his goal is that you become like him. HE LOVED US – to shower his affection upon us! HE PREDESTINED US – we have been set apart from our mother’s womb. HE ADOPTED …
