Mary Did you know?

12 Questions to Mary the Mother of Jesus Did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water? Did you know that your son will be the savior of the world? Did you know that your son will  make all things new? Did you know that the child you delivered will be your deliverer Did you know that this baby boy of yours will give sight to the blind? Did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know that He has walked where angels trod? Did you know that when you kissed Him you were kissing the face of God? Did you know that He is Lord of all creation? Did you know that He will one day rule the nations? Did you know that your little boy is heaven’s perfect lamb? Mary did you know that the sleeping child you are holding is the Great I AM? These 12 questions are of course taken from the song – Mary did you know.  Lyrics by Mark …

John 1:1 -3

Creation Explained! The beginning – before this world was created – the word existed. This word was with God in the beginning. Well, God has no beginning so this word must have no beginning as well. For the bible say this word was “God”. By this word, everything was made, created brought into existence. We know that this word is Jesus because – the word became flesh and dwelled among us. So, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all have a creative imprint on our world. John 1:10; Col. 1:16, 17; Heb. 1:2; Gen. 1:2 Don’t believe in evolution… you were fearfully and wonderfully made by a loving creative God.

Is grass growing on your path?

Early African converts to Christianity were earnest and regular in private devotions. Each one reportedly had a separate spot in the thicket where he would pour out his heart to God. Over time the paths to these places became well-worn. As a result, if one of these believers began to neglect prayer, it was soon apparent to the others. They would kindly remind the negligent one, “Brother, the grass grows on your path.” Sermon Illustration

I am not a Morning Person. Liar!

So, this little motivational post is to discourage people from making excuses about their lack of prayer and devotion in their lives by saying things like ‘I am not a morning person’ when it comes to prayer. Because the question is what do you do with the rest of your time? Have you schedule another time in your day to meet with God on a consistent basis, or are you too busy to make it happen. Are you up on the internet… playing video games… watching movies all night? If you are, a simple change in your daily habits, nightly habits or bad habits could improve your prayer habit.

Temptation

We live in an era where you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to be faced with temptation. You turn on the television, you get on the internet and you can find it every on every click or change of channel. If we are not smart we can begin to think and even believe that the consequences of playing a little loosed with temptation will be minor. But every compromising click or changed channel can drag you down into a deep and dark dungeon of bondage and addiction. We have all seen and heard of scandals over the past decade, ones that shocked leaving homes broken, lives destroyed and reputations ruined all because of one single poor judgement. Bill Pollard said, “reputations are fragile, they must be handled with care like a valuable vase that if dropped can never quite be put together again”. Temptations knock at the door of all of us. It would be nice to heed the voice of God it knocks at your door – master it! And don’t …

The Power series Part 2

THE POWER OF PRAYER “Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth. God does nothing but in answer to prayer.” – John Wesley There are three levels OF PRAYER. The higher we go up in these levels the deeper we will experience God. I believe that God a calling us to experience the third level on a regular basis, because that is where prayer is most effective and powerful. 1. Level of known words… Matthew 6:8 – 13 This is where we communicate with God in plain English, French, Swahili, Cantonese, or Spanish. This is where we communicate with God through worship, petition, supplication, confession, intercession, thanksgiving. You speak your mind to him using known words. On this level we can tell God what is on our mind. This is the level of known words. 2. Level of unknown words. 1 Cor. 14:10 …

New Age Movement

Scripture exposes the deception of the New Age Movement. “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one” (Rom. 3:10-12). Unlike New Age, the Bible declares that truth is found, not by looking inward to self, but by looking upward, not by looking to men, but by looking to God (Jer. 17:5,9). Paul’s rhetorical question says it best: “Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” (1 Cor. 1:20). Indeed, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
