Thank you for the “like,” Walter! Your quote by David Livingston is one I recite to myself often. The only tie I desire in my life is the one that binds me to the heart of God. You never feel so free as when you are in the grip of His grace. You have a wonderful blog and I look forward to reading it in the days ahead. May God richly bless you as you continue to seek Him and to glorify Him in and through your life. Cindy

I don’t get the time to write that I would wish to have – especially developed stuff like my little 3-parter – and I get so little response from it, that I often feel as if Iam writing to myself (not really a bad thing most especially when it comes to theology (keep impressing upon yourself what you know etc)) and the things of God. Knowing that someone somewhere out in the ether found my writing, read it, and enjoyed or was encouraged in some way by it definitely helps.

Thanks for stopping by, for taking the time to read my writing, and for even just hitting a “like” button so I would know it was seen. 🙂

May our great God bless you and yours richly day by day for His glory.

I noticed above you find inspiration in John Owen…

He is one of the greatest theologians of all time, and one of the top two theologians of the puritan era (Edwards the other). I am slowly making my way through his book Overcoming Sin and Temptation on mortification of sin in the life of the believer, and the content is absolutely amazing.

Glad to see that other people in this generation are reading his stuff!

Indeed, Owen takes you deep and wide – I mean to the heart of the matter – “overcoming sin and temptation” is a great example. I read it a few years ago and it changed my life profoundly. Personally, Owen and Edwards are way up on my list of great theologians.
      Many Blessing in the Lord!

hey there FON! I am sorry, I look for your name on your site but couldn’t find it. You have an awesome site there. I love how you put things in perspective with the pictures and all that. It comes alive! If you could put your SUBSCRIBE WITH FON somewhere on the top rather than the bottom, I think you could get more subscribers, your site is that good. Please disregard that if you think it’s perfect where it is. I was just looking for it to see if you am following or subscribed to your site and didn’t realize that it was on the bottom right. Stay blessed my friend

“Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. 2 Tim 3:16 We invite readers to refine their theological understanding, sharpen their ethical rigor, and heighten their devotional intensity right here”

I appreciate the credit you give to the word of God in and those 3 simple but deep statements that describe your reasons for writing. I think they could do all of us some good.

I am tempted to take credit for those three statements but quite frankly I borrow them from some notes in my esv bible commentary. But it is true – I do feel deeply about them and cherish profoundly the word of God. Thank you very much for your kind words. I hope we can mutually encourage one another through HIS living word. See you on your blog soon.
