ONE THING IS NEEDED

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.  Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; Proverbs 4:20-21  At times, life can seem so overwhelming! Maybe your thinking as you read this; that’s how I feel about my life right now. You may feel like you just don’t have the time to accomplish everything you need to and you’re being pulled from every direction. Your job may be demanding more of you than ever before, your kids need you, the cat had kittens, the oil needs changed in the car, you were asked to teach Sunday School for the next month and the list goes on and on.  So much to do, so little time! Let’s face it, even with all the great technology we have at our finger tips, we live in a very demanding world that can pull at us from every direction.  Thinking about the pressures of life reminds me of two sisters in the Bible that Jesus came to visit. …

Don’t worry be happy!

Here’s little post I wrote You might want to read it Line  by Line Don’t worry be happy! Have you ever heard people say things like – “when I get that house up in the hills, or that car – “than” I will be happy?” I have! When I get that pair of legs – than I will be happy When I get that promotion or raise – than I will be happy When I meet Mr. Or Mrs. Right – than I will be happy But what people fail to realize is that riches, material blessings, the ideal life and all your hopes and dreams combined can not make you happy. Your happiness does not depend on or should not be dependent upon others, circumstances or what you have or have not. The bible says that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of what he …

Let the Lord Settle You Down

Philippians 4 For  Anxious People Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute! Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
