Laughter: Medicine to the Soul


A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones… Proverbs 17:22 When was the last time you laughed? I mean really, really laughed? You cheeks hurt, your head hurt, your back hurt, your stomach hurt and nobody could stop you from laughing, it just kept flowing uncontrollably. I hope the guy in the picture above or something or somebody in your life today can bring you some laughter – because the bible says it is medicine for your soul. I don’t want to get too statistical here, but it is being said by doctors, that if you want to reduce the levels of chronic stress in your body, enhance your life span, boost your immune system function, protect your nervous system and sanity, and give your endocrine system much needed rest, you need to try laughter as a healing therapy. But before science came along to tell us this, the bible was already talking about it. So today, I recommend – Laughter! Laugh as much as you can and as many times …
