Benefits of Genuine Worship/ Part 4


Worship increases spiritual strength and endurance in the life of the worshiper Isaiah 40:28-31 says, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” I don’t know about you, but from time to time I find myself in that place of exhaustion. Sometimes I lack the courage and strength to make progress.  But through worship life begins to make sense again. Peace Within


Emefa is the middle name of my oldest daughter. This is an African name given to a girl. It is a name that is quite popular among the Ewe, Mina people of Togo and Ghana. The meaning of the name is “peace within” and speaks of the prince of peace coming to live in our heart. The only true and lasting peace to be found in this world is found in Jesus Christ. Even before Jesus was born, it was prophesied that he would bring peace (Isa. 9:6; Ps. 72:7). At Jesus’ birth the heavenly host announced that he would bring peace to earth (Luke 4:18). Throughout Jesus’ ministry he brought peace to others. 1. He interpreted his preaching as a mission of peace (Luke 4:18). 2. He taught his disciples that they could know peace in a world of tribulation (John 16:33). 3. He instructed his disciples to spread peace (Luke 10:5). 4.
