The Kingdom of God is God’s reign and rule here and now

Every person who believes in Jesus and has made Him Lord, has God’s kingdom established in their heart. This is the first aspect of the kingdom.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:5-8

The Kingdom of God is God’s ultimate reign and rule at the end of the age

Even though the kingdom is here, it’s like a pledge, a foretaste, a deposit – sealed with a promise that guarantees an eternal inheritance.

“Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to destroy is death.”  1 Corinthians 15:24-26

“The kingdoms of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 11:15

“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.”  Revelation 19:6-7

“And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.”  Revelation 12:10

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3, 4

Fruits of the Kingdom

Miracles, Signs and Wonders
“But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:20

“I proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.”  Matthew 10:7, 8

Redemption and Forgiveness of Sins
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13, 14

  1. Love this! The kingdom of God is my favorite subject in the universe.
(But I got that from God – it seems to be His favorite subject also.)
I love the simplicity and clarity with which you stated it.
