God owns everything but these

I have no complaint about your sacrifices or the burnt offerings you constantly offer. But I do not need the bulls from your barns or the goats from your pens. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it. Do I eat the meat of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats? Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” (Psalms50:8-15 NLT) I have always heard it said, “God doesn’t need anything from us.” But today I will shock you by telling you that is a false statement. Even thought God owns everything, in His infinite wisdom, He has given away His ability to control, …

This Week: Let them see you in me

With every breath I breathe I sing a simple melody But I pray they’ll hear more than a song Lyric/Prayer Take away the melodies Take away the songs I sing Take away all the lights And all the songs You let me write Does the man I am today Say the words You need to say? Let them see You in me Let them hear You when I speak Let them feel You when I sing Let them see You This is my prayer this week – that I will decrease and Christ will increase in me. That His light may shine through me. So that it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.

A Playlist for Mother’s 75th Birthday

My mother turns 75 years old today and her 7 children (five girls, two boys) and countless grand-children are all coming together to celebrate her life. We are coming from all over the United States for this event. She has no clue this going down. I share the news here because she doesn’t read my blog so don’t go telling. 🙂 For our trip to the East Coast, my daughters decided to put together a playlist. My mother’s name is Mozel, so they named the playlist – Mozel 75 – sounds like a cheap motel, but this lady is a class act.  So, here are the 10 songs we chose to help us celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman.. I especially dig “Mama”and “Seasons.”  Ready or not – Britt Nicole Have your way – Deitrick Haddon I feel so Alive – Capital Kings #LITO – Press Play Mama – Jaeson Ma Papa San – Get Right Seasons – Benjiman Step up – Papa San Jamaica Praise Medley – NewWorldSon – Dangerous – Group 1 Crew.  I …

Your Grace Finds me

There in the darkest night of the soul There in the sweetest songs of victory Your grace finds me Matt Redman has released another powerful song about the never ending, always constant and accessible grace of God. The song is geared toward helping us find God’s grace in the every season of life. Grace that is “there in the light of the sunrise, or in a newborn cry – on your wedding day – in the weeping by the graveside. A grace that is the same for the rich and the poor, the same for the saint in the sinner.” The grace of God finds us in the valleys, on the mountain tops and in the mundane. It finds us in times of great celebration and joy, yet in the hustle and bustle of life. Your grace finds me is the title cut from a great album that I think will impact your daily walk with Christ. Check out this album on iTunes Your Grace Finds Me (Live) [Deluxe Edition] Matt Redman Christian & Gospel …

Worship is a life well lived and a job well done

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Psalm 104:23 pray with me today – Lord, let your favor rest upon us today. Establish the work of our hands today, no matter what we – from bishop to the butler, the president to the pastor, the doctor to the dog whisperer. Help us to fulfill your calling in whatever we do and may we do it all to your glory. Amen! Well, as you can tell, today is Monday and I promise that you can have a more fulfilling day if only you begin to see or view your job as significant and meaningful no matter what you do. First and foremost, there is no job out there that is inherently more holy than other jobs. Prophets, priests and pastors are not the only professions listed in the Bible… Last time I checked, #Butler made the list. — Walter Bright (@WaltBright) September 16, 2013 In fact, …

Do not be a spectator – be a participator

When it comes to worshiping the Lord according to the book (Bible), all I hear sometimes is a bunch of excuses: It is not my personality I am too shy, plus I don’t want to draw attention to myself I don’t want to embarrass myself, my friends are looking I don’t have to shout, dance, jump, or clap to actually praise God I don’t want to be like one of those show offs I think sometimes people can be a little too stiff in church, a bit too dignified and too concerned about themselves instead of following the book on worship. So the question here is – Is it possible that having or showing a composed or serious manner that is worthy of respect in church, especially in the area of our attitude to praise and worship, can sometimes hinder us from truly experiencing the fullness of the abundant life we have in Christ? There are seven words in the scripture that define what praise and worship should really look like. Seven in the scripture …

I want to see dry bones living again…

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Ezekiel 37:1, 4 Prayer I want to be close, close to Your side So Heaven is real and death is a lie I want to hear voices of angels above Singing as one I want to be near, near to Your heart Loving the world and hating the dark I want to see dry bones living again Singing as one Praise Hallelujah, Holy, Holy God Almighty, the Great I Am who is worthy, none beside Thee God Almighty, the Great I Am Declaration The mountains shake before You The demons run in fear At the mention of the name King Of Majesty There is no power in hell or any who can stand before the power and the Presence …

Rivers in the desert: Feel it rushing to and through you…

Enjoy a few powerful seconds from last night’s meeting at church. His presence was truly in the house. This is what I crave every time we meet. Revelation 22:1, 2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Prophetic Prayer: May his river of life, healing, and joy flow in and through you today. May his river of gladness fill up every dry and barren place in your life. May all the fruits of the Spirit be birthed in you, and may you be productive in every good work as you yield to His ever flowing stream. May it be that through you healing and blessings might come to those all around you. That He may restore unto you the years …
