Three days ago police in Fayetteville County, GA arrested the senior pastor of World Changers Internation Church on simple battery charges. Video In a Sunday morning speech to his congregation, Pastor Dollar said that the accusations about him choking punching and kicking his 15 year old daughter are completely false, and anything else is “exaggeration and sensationalization.” The pastor than went on to talk about the challenges of parenting. 2012’s Top Churches to watch in America/ Part 1


At the end of January, every church in my denomination receives an annual church questionnaire. This questionnaire helps my denomination to study conversion or new birth experiences, baptism, weekly attendance, growth rates, scope of influence, church planting efforts etc… to see if we are successful in building God’s kingdom. If you study or research churches, you know that everybody relies heavily on the above metrics to determine successful or failing churches. And everybody knows that this is not necessarily a perfect way to measure churches. That’s because, “sometimes exceptional churches have humble results in terms of size, growth, and influence while sometimes unhealthy churches know all the right formulas to give the appearance of spiritual success.” However, “these matrices are our most reliable, efficient, and accurate way to gauge churches in research studies.” – please look for the lists in the next posts… but let say this in closing – 1. Bible Reading Plan for Slackers and Shirkers


Do you want to remove the pressure to keep up with getting through the entire bible in a year? Do you want to read a variety of  biblical genres? Do you prefer a continuity by reading the same genre each day of the week? If you do, than BRPSS is what you need. Bible Reading Plan for Slackers and Shirkers. According to the guys at trinity church blog, this plan is unusually helpful because it combines two biblical values which seem to diverge in most bible reading plans. Those two biblical values are discipline and grace. They argue that the advantage of this plan is that it provides guidance as you read each day but does not put you on an internal guilt trip if you miss a day – you just pick up on the next reading – on the day it happens to be.
