“God will not go forth with that man who marches in his own strength.” Charles Spurgeon 1 Corinthians 5:21, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” It is important to understand one big theological word. Justification God has made me right with Him, hence, I am accepted and righteous in His sight. All my sins are wiped away and I am now clothed with His righteousness. This word means to be made right with God. It is a gift from God. We get this by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. It is at this time we become the righteousness of God. Unfortunately, we all recognize that we are not perfect, and because of that we sometimes doubt our justification and confuse it with God’s call for us to embrace the process of sanctification. Our imperfections do not change the fact that we are the righteousness of God. When God looks at you, He looks through the eyes of …

Calvary Covers it all

Whenever there is an accident, an illness or a disaster, the first thing that comes to mind is – “do I have insurance… do I have full coverage?” It is reassuring to know you are fully covered. Jesus is not an insurance policy,  but He has provided full coverage for everything we can ever imagine, through His work on Calvary. Our past, present, and future is fully covered. Take a look at these scriptures: Colossians 2:14 AMP Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). Consecration “The world has yet to see what God can do with a man or woman, who is totally dedicated to Him.” What is Consecration? The word first and foremost means to “be set apart.” It is the act of separating from a common to a sacred use, or of devoting and dedicating a person or thing to the service and worship of God. The Hebrew words kadosh and Greek  hagiazo are translated by several different English words: holy, consecrate, hallow, sanctify, dedicate. In the Old Testament God is said to be kadosh or “holy.” The Hebrew word originally meant “to be separate.” The Holy One of Israel is separate because He is God. “I am God, and not man; the Holy One in your midst” ( Hosea 11:9 ). Hosea pointed to both the otherness or separateness of God and His nearness. The holiness of God came to mean all that God is. To the prophets, God’s holiness included justice, righteousness, and many ethical concerns. “God who is Holy shall be sanctified in righteousness” (Isaiah 5:16 ). You do not fall into sin you slide into it!

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:14 Have you ever walked upon the skin or outer covering of a banana? It is one of the scariest and most dangerous slip and fall you will ever have. You begin with a slide. It may be a short slide, but at the end of that slide there is a very had fall. I want to use this scenario to describe how one falls into sin. First of all, no one ever wakes up in the morning and tells himself, “you know, today I feel like sinning. I feel like buying myself some crack or cocaine and just getting wasted. Or, you know I’m going to get myself a hot babe tonight and commit adultery.” But I am not sure that is the way people fall into sin. It is a long, gradual, progressive slide. A journey of …
