He has turned my mourning into dancing

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent… He has turned my mourning into dancing Have you ever experienced any of the following? deliverance from the attacks of your enemies answered prayer in desperate circumstances rescue from impending death Has God been good to you in any way? What does it do inside of you when you see how good he is? How does it make you feel? Does it move you? If yes, than you have reasons to sing, shout and dance! You have reasons to praise the Lord. This Psalm is jam-packed with the wonderful blessing of the Lord in the life of the Psalmist. And these wonderful acts of God leaves the psalmist singing, shouting and dancing. In fact, the bible actually says, “he breaks out in dancing.” I don’t know what this psalmist was into back in those days. I doubt he was familiar with Zouk, Conga, Charleston, Kolo, Cha-Cha, Lindy Hop or the …

Can you Hear me now?

The Call of Wisdom Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did …

Let my words be few!

Check these out: Don’t speak unless you can improve on the silence. –Spanish Proverb Never miss a good chance to shut up. –Will Rogers The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone? — Ecclesiastes 6:11 We speak thousands of words every day. Good words, bad words, criticized words. We’re so flippant with our words; quick to criticize, quick to slander. We stab and we injure and we hurt, argue. we swear multiple times each day using words. It’s said that both men and women speak more than 27.000 words combined daily. But talking too much is not cool. God calls us to let our words be few in prayer, in conversations, yes, in every sphere of life. Ecclesiastes 5:2 – Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; let your words be few. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger Here is why: It …

Extra Extra Read All About It

It always starts with one word First, somebody told it, Then the room couldn’t hold it, So the busy tongues rolled it Till they got it outside. Then the crowd came across it, And never once lost it, But tossed it and tossed it, Till it grew long and wide. This lie brought forth others, Dark sisters and brothers, And fathers and mothers– A terrible crew. And while headlong they hurried, The people they flurried, And troubled and worried, As lies always do. And so evil-bodied, This monster lay goaded, Till at last it exploded In smoke and in shame. Then from mud and from mire The pieces flew higher, And hit the sad victim And killed a good name. I am looking forward to the day when people would realize that they should never say anything about anybody behind their back. I hope people will realize that if they can not say something about somebody in their presence, they cannot say it at all to anybody else. By overlooking this simple principle, some people …

Building Blocks of Faith

JUDE But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt;  save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh Jude 1:20-22  Prayer in the Spirit keep yourselves in the Love of God waiting the second coming show mercy toward doubters snatch others form the fire hate sin rely on God’s power Please let me share a few words base on this outline: Prayer in the Spirit is God’s call to take our prayer to another level. I believe that prayer in the Spirit, is the highest level of prayer you can ever reach. It is the Spirit of the Lord praying through you with “groans that word cannot express.” Those times when we know not what to pray for, the Spirit of God intercedes on our behalf. We are also told by …

Detours

Life is sometimes full of twists and turns: You are up – than you are down. You are in love – you are out of love. You are Healthy – than you are ill. You are Employed – than, unemployed Other times, life is great, you are moving toward your dreams, goals and your destination is just around the corner and boom – roadblock. All of a sudden, you hit a brick wall. What do you do when you find yourself on this roller coaster ride of ups and downs? What do you do when disappointment hits? How do you handle detours, opposition and roadblocks? Quite often, when life serves us an unexpected blow or a pill too hard to swallow, we quickly get discouraged and think it’s the end of the road. Sometimes we blame others or simply just give up. A few years ago a young violinist by the name of Lukas Kmit was playing at a Jewish Orthodox synagogue in Prseov, Slovakia. While he was performing, the cell phone of one of …

Two Steps to a Miracle

The Lame Beggar Healed/ ACTS 3:1-9 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.  But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”  And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.  And leaping up he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.  And all the people saw him walking and …

The formula hasn’t changed: Your first step to next step ventures

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. Acts 13:2 So, you are sitting there and asking yourself – What’s my next move? What does God have in store for me? Should I do this, should I do that? Let me share with you a very simple advice. Jesus’ disciples understood a very important principle in determining next step ventures. It wasn’t coming up with the best ideas about what they needed to do with their lives. It wasn’t seeking out counsel from mentors and spiritual giants. There is a time and place for those. It was about being with God, waiting on God and listening for the Spirit to Speak. Your first step to next step ventures is taking time – short or extended times of worship and fasting and waiting on the Holy Spirit to speak. I am afraid too many have missed this all important step and have ended up wasting their lives simply …

Come On my soul

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God. Psalm 43:5 Do you ever struggle with Sullenness? “the sinking discouragement, moodiness, hopelessness, unresponsiveness, withdrawn deadness of emotion”(John Piper). If you do, trust me, it is a very funky place that is very hard to snap out of. As long as your head in sunk deep in that discouraging deadness your song will be – “nobody knows the trouble I see.” But try learning and singing this song; allow the Holy Spirit’s power and a desperate cry to the Lord help snap you out of that funky place. Prayer: Lord, as the deer pants for flowing streams, so my soul for you… my soul thirst for you. I pour out my soul as I lift my prayers and praise to you. At the roar of your waterfalls, let all your breakers and waves come over me. Check out the entire album… just came out: Here is …
