Stand in Truth

STAND IN TRUTH “Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth.”‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In the introduction to the series, we talked about the necessity of standing firm in the armor of God. Today, we want to talk about STANDING IN TRUTH! Hello everyone and welcome to part 1 of The Armor of God: A Mini Series. My name is WB It is important to understand that without truth, we are lost, and the schemes of the devil, the fiery darts of the evil one will surely overpower us. Truth is of the utmost importance in the life of the believer. Without it, the rest of the armor would be essentially of no use to us. Failing to anchor oneself in truth, to walk in truth, makes one vulnerable – susceptible to the lies of the enemy – “carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming” (Ephesians 4:14). Truth – the belt of truth protects us and prepares us for battle. What is truth? Truth is …

The Stand

“Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” This is not only the key to understanding the armor, but it is also exactly what we are called to stand in. The armor has everything to do with you standing in it than it has to do with you putting it on! Today in this introductory message on the armor of God I want to remind you that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. I want to remind you that you have been born of God. He has He hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son By virtue of your faith in Him – you have been made victorious. It is from this vintage point – in this victory that Paul calls you to take a stand. I hear people say that we need to put the armor on every day.But my question is – if we are to be ready in season …

Arrested by Stealth

Mark 14:1 ESV It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him. They wanted to arrest Him secretly. Stealth comes from an Old English word related to steal. Now we must understand that no thief steals openly. Stealth means secretive, secrecy sneakiness, slyness, camouflage, clandestine. I am sure you have all heard about the stealth bomber? This aircraft was designed in accordance with technology that makes detection by radar or sonar difficult. This is the modus operandi of the enemy. His primary way to attack us – steal from us and hinder us – is to hide from us! He seek to blend in, make his moves undetected. The scripture calls him a thief – John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But he does none of this openly. Matthew 24:43 says to – Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a thief was coming, he …

the belt that no one wants to wear

I think it is important that we learn how to discern right from wrong, good from evil and truth from error. Our world constantly bombards us with error and half-truths. and the fact that we have to make decisions and choices every day makes it even more important. One of the ways we do that is by allowing the “Word of Christ to dwell in us richly teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom.” This refers to the teaching about Christ as well as the words of Christ himself, which were part of the oral traditions passed on to believers. We are also to “put on the whole armor of God to be strong in the Lord and able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Unfortunately most of us want to wear the armor without the most important piece – the belt of truth. According to Salmond: Strictly, the belt is not part of the armor, but before the armor can be put on, the garments underneath must be gathered together. “The soldier might …
