7 Days without Prayer makes 1 weak

Just a thought
Fasting and praying is not for the faint hearted. It takes a tenacious person, one who is willing to go the distance, deeper, farther than necessary. That’s when you find God in all His glory.

The edge of the desert
Moses was taking care of the flock for his father-in-law Jethro, Midian’s priest. He led his flock out to the edge of the desert, and he came to God’s mountain called Horeb. The Lord’s messenger appeared to him in a flame of fire in the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was in flames, but it didn’t burn up. Then Moses said to himself, Let me check out this amazing sight and find out why the bush isn’t burning up. When the Lord saw that he was coming to look, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” Moses said, “I’m here.” Then the Lord said, “Don’t come any closer! Take off your sandals, because you are standing on holy ground.” He continued, “I am the God of your father, Abraham’s God, Isaac’s God, and Jacob’s God.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God. (‭Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭1-6‬ CEB)

What others say about it
The TLV says, he led his flock to the farthest end
The NLT say, he led his flock far into
The NIV says, he led his flock to the far side
The Message says, he led his flock to west end
The Amplified says, he led his flock to the back of
Darby says, he led his flock behind the wilderness

Going deeper
Now, Moses didn’t have to go that far just to take care of another man’s flock. I believe something was drawing him. He had no clue he was about to bump into glory.

Feel the wooing
A lot of you are taking this first part of the year to fast and pray. Some of you feel the wooing in your Spirit, something drawing, but you haven’t stepped up yet. I urge you, to jump in, and press in, for you are about to step into a new season.

God is drawing you to the edge; he’s calling you deeper; he’s taking you to a “whole nother level.”

Are you going to go the distance?

Draw Inspiration
Here are a few places you can draw some inspiration to go the distance:
Give God no rest until… Isaiah 62:7
The walk, the shout, walls fall… Joshua 6
Strike the ground… 2 Kings 13:18, 19
This type comes out only by fasting and praying… Matthew 17:21
I will not leave you until you bless me… Genesis 32:24-30
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:57-62
“Seven days without prayer makes one weak.” – Allen E. Vartlett
Don’t be satisfied with where you’ve been, cry out for more, press in, hunger for more.

See you at the edge!
