A prayer for clarity

My Story
It was December 28 2014 at about 8:15, just a week or so ago – I stood up in church and prayed a simple prayer:

“Lord I need clarity and wisdom to deal with certain situations I have been dealing with. I am not asking for you to wet a fleece or dry it. I trust that you will speak in a way that I can understand. Thank you for showing me what to do, in Jesus’ name Amen!”

I went home and didn’t think about it again until He spoke to me. The way he spoke was so clear I didn’t have struggle to understand what he was telling me to do.

Every prayer offered in faith is answered by a faithful God.

At this time of the year, all of us are faced with the challenge of decision making. Business decisions, Ministry decisions, family budgets, career change, is it the right time to buy a car or a house. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

I would like to urge you quiet your soul, quiet your Spirit and lift a prayer of faith to the Lord. Don’t tell God that you want Him to reveal things to you in a dream, just simply ask for clarity and wait for Him to blow your mind.

Meditation

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways ( James 1:5-8).

Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?” (1 Kings 3:9).

Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely (Proverbs 28:5).

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:7-11).

Prayer
Father, I want to thank you for your invitation to ask, seek and knock. I thank you because you give generously to those who lack wisdom. I want o pray with my brothers and sisters today as we believe for clarity in decision making. Open their eyes to see and to know the way to take at this time of the year. For those needing clarity about a dream or a prophetic utterance, may the Spirit of truth light up their world. Thank you for clarity in Jesus’ Name – Amen!

  1. If we walk knowing that He will direct our paths because we are acknowledging Him in all our ways, then we can trust and believe He will give us direction. The hard part is believing and walking forward, or waiting depending on what the circumstance calls for. Last night after 4 weeks of pain with an unaligned jaw, I finally prayed out to Abba Father for healing. Why did it take me 4 weeks? I had prayed during those weeks, but last night I gave it up to Him knowing that He can deliver and heal me, whatever that means. Things haven’t changed over night, but I am going to press forward in my faith. I’ve given it to Him and I’m going to trust Him. Things still may not be clear to you, but you can clearly trust Him to guide you. Thank you for sharing your heart and for your prayers and thoughts.

One other thought…sometimes we are in a hurry to make decisions because of man-made deadlines, but our God is the God of the whole universe, He is bigger than all of this. If He doesn’t give us an answer when we think we have to have it, maybe it just needs to wait a little longer. Just thinking… 🙂
