Do Life Big: A Manifesto

Elvyre Bright – TED Talk

Have you ever lacked the motivation or just the power to take you past where you are to where you’ve always wanted to be? That’s exactly what I got last night in a small group bible study in my community. We are using Mark Batterson’s “All In” Curriculum, and it is so good.

Last night we did a chapter that left me pumped. If you have the resource, I urge you to go back and watch lesson three, it is incredibly uplifting, challenging, motivational and life changing. That is if you’re stuck anywhere on the way to your destiny.

Allow me to share with you a few lines from a commencements speech Mark Batterson gave several years ago. I hope you find in it the impetus to drive you toward setting and achieving your goals, reaching your dreams, and most importantly – diving deeper into the love of Christ.

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at DEATH

Set God-size goals

Pursue God-ordained passion

Go after dreams that are destined to fail without divine intervention

keep asking questions

keep making mistakes

keep seeking God

Stop pointing out problems – become part of the solution

Stop repeating the past and start creating the future

Expand your horizon

Accumulate Experiences

Enjoy the journey

Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can

Live like today is the first and last day of your life

Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshiping what’s right with God.

Burn sinful bridges

Blaze new trails

Don’t let fear dictate your decisions

Take a flying leap of faith

Quit holding out – quit holding back

Push all of your chips to the middle of the table

It’s time to ante up all of your faith – it’s time to go all in – it’s time to go all out.

I encourage you today to – God do life big!
