UnFollow: 7 People you may need to Unfollow

We live in a day and age where people and things continually scream for your attention. We are constantly being asked to follow something. For example, these request might look like the following:

  • Follow me on Facebook
  • Follow me on Instagram
  • Follow me on Twitter
  • Follow me on Tumblr
  • Follow me on Foursquare
  • Follow me on WordPress
  • Follow me on Google
  • Follow this trend, website, celebrity

The list goes on and on.

It is not hard to see how people can easily start following people and things they have no business following. Let me suggest some people or trends you might want to consider unfollowing:

Unfollow your favorite porn star

It may be the one in your favorite movie, TV Show or dirty magazine or website. If they’ve ever exposed themselves – you need to unfollow them.

Unfollow your favorite author or blogger

If their words incite lust. profanity and all shades of sexual perversion – you need to unfollow them.

Unfollow your favorite Rock star

If they curse God or his people in their music, talk dirty about women, use profanity and live a perverse life-style – you need to unfollow them. You shouldn’t be listening to music that glorify Satan, objectify women, promote self and self-destructive habits anyways.

Unfollow your worldly friends

Stop hanging with guys who use and girls who do. I know, you’ve got to win them for Christ right – but if they are winning you for the devil right now – you need to unfollow them.

Unfollow your favorite preacher

Okay, he’s been a source of inspiration in time past, Bla, Bla, Bla. But everybody knows he’s pimping boys, cheating on his wife or stealing church money and living an extravagant lifestyle – it’s time to unfollow him.

Unfollow you favorite author

I don’t care if they wrote fifty shades of nay or something. If it is dirty, stay away from it. What goes in come out. If your favorite author writes about things that are honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, stick with them. If there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, in the writings of your favorite author, stick with them, if not flee.

Unfollow yourself

If you think the world centers around you, it’s time to unfollow yourself. It’s time to unfollow self, pride and narcissism. With a bit of following, we can easily develop a sense of self-importance. if that has happened – it’s time to unfollow yourself. Is there is anything coming between you and The Lord? Ask God to search your heart. Ask him to test you to see if there is any wicked way in you. Than ask him to cleanse you and remove that thing and lead you in his way.

Conclusion

Ultimately, we are going to have to pick up our cross and follow Jesus, because He too, is calling us to follow. His call is for us to follow Him daily, tirelessly, faithfully. His call is for us to follow causes and people that “seek justice,” “love kindness,” and “walk humbly.”

The rest is only very sinful, but also, a lot of waste of time.
