Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. Psalm 25:13-15.
The word man in the passage is a generic therm and includes female. So anyone (both male and female who fears the Lord can rest assure that they will be rewarded.
Six enduring blessings from this portion of scripture:
The Lord makes It easier for you to discover His will, his direction and His plans. One of the reasons why people find it hard to understand the will of God is because of hidden and unconfessed sin. Sin tends to create spiritual dullness and insensitivity. Romans 12:2 says,
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will
The Lord causes your soul, the seat of the appetites, seat of emotions and passions to continually rest in sufficiency and satisfaction. There will be no need to find fulfillment in things that do not satisfy. Jeremiah 2:13 says,
for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
The Lord extend your legacy to your children. A legacy of faithfulness, righteousness and prosperity. Your children will turn out great. They be prosperous both spiritually and materially. Psalm 37:25 says,
I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.
The Lord remains a close, trusted and real friend. You discover the true meaning of his friendship. He is a constant companion. He will be there when you call. You will have a shoulder to cry on. You will have somebody who can listen. Someone you can trust. Proverbs 18:24 says,
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
The Lord makes known his covenant to you. The counsel contained in God’s word, by which he declares who is and what he means to us is constantly being reveal so that nothing is hid from the eye. So that we can tap into whatever we need for life and godliness. This covenant/contract is different from those we sign with our internet, mobile, bank or insurance provider. They hide things from you than hit you with hidden fees. Not with God. Amos 3:7 says,
For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants…
The Lord delivers you from all manner of attacks. He delivers from the corrupt nurture, from the wiles, schemes, and fiery dot of the evil one and the ensnaring traps of evil men.
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
It really pays good to fear God.
