There comes into the life of every man a task for which he and he alone is uniquely suited. What a shame if that moment finds him either unwilling or unprepared for that which would become his finest hour. Winston Churchill
What are you built for?
What is your mission?
What is your calling…?
What is your purpose, your destiny?
Like Churchill, there was a young woman in the bible who seized the moment when it arose. Her name was Esther
Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish. “Mordecai then went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him.
Esther 4:13-17
We could draw from so many examples, but what is God preparing you for? Have you discover it yet? You need to be prepared, ready to take your stand and shine in your finest hour!

Love the post. Today in the Orthodox Church of America we celebrate a woman who seized the moment; the woman at the well in Samaria. Usually people dismiss her as almost a prop. But in the Orthodox Church she is celebrated as the first diciple of Christ. Why? Because she went into the town and immediately converted the towns people. Then she brought the to Jesus to hear for theemselves.

Hey Suzan, sorry for the delay in my response…I’ve been thinking about something meaningful…something that could help bring clarity and direction. I hope others can chip in and bring some wisdom to the question. So here is what I think:
-first God knows exactly where you are and he is there with you – don’t ever lose sight of that…
-you need to clarify what it is that you are looking for…is it consistent with scripture, is it in His will and plan for you…and does it match up with your gifts, talents and calling…
-if you are not sure about your calling…seek to discover it… Start by understanding what you are passionate about (you love people, Photograph, artwork, writing) and how they fit together…
-then, begin to take steps… Deliberate steps, get for yourself some courage it is not the absence of fear… Step out in faith… Don’t worry about failure…remember HE is with you… Seek him…ask for wisdom, direction… Keep your eyes on the goal… Bring all you energy to bear on your goal… Don’t stop! if you want to walk on water you have to get out of the boat
-finally, proverbs 15:22 says, there is safety in a multitude of counselors… So seek them out…your pastor, small group leader, godly friends not forgetting your husband…
I hope this helps. Praying for you!

I have come to believe that as long as I’m alive in this world……God is not finished with me yet, but I have wasted many years of my life struggling to find what he wants me do, rather than just focusing on being ready for him to lead me where he wants me to go…..being prepared and checking with him on every decision I make, on a daily basis.

Actually, if you think about it….not too many holy ones “got” it when they were young…many had to gain maturity and wisdom….and speaking from my experience….I was pretty stubborn and rebellious when I was young! 🙂 I look at Paul (Saul) as being a very good example!
