Sweet hour of prayer

Nail it to the Cross. By Walter Bright

Nail a note to the cross today. Something you are struggling with – nail it to the cross.

Colossians 2:13-15: And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the un-circumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

Light a Candle by Walter Bright

Light a candle – embrace his presence – experience his glory and breakthrough in every area of your life

Candle has symbolized the presence of the Lord from Old Testament times. The Israelites kept a flame burning in the tabernacle and we to let our light shine for all the world to see. When you light a candle it is an outward demonstration of an in-ward faith that is longing for the presence of God to take care of  every situation. As you light your candle pray that God will take control of every situation overwhelming your heart. Pray that his presence will surround you.

Communion by Walter Bright

Get a fresh start. A clean slate. A new page. Communion is an act of celebration and remembering Christ’s dearth on the cross.

1 Corinthians 11:23-29: For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, This is my body for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Worship by Walter Bright

Spend some time in worship and prayer. Worship and pray in spirit and in truth. God longs for this kind of encounter

Psalm 95:1, 2, 3, 6, 7: Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. Come let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

Meditate by Walter Bright

Meditate. Ponder. Turn it over and over in your mind. See how it applies to you and how you can put it into practice. Spend some time meditating on the word of God

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
